Cabinet Prep Primer

Step #1
On a sunny day, remove all cabinet doors and drawers.
Place on sawhorses in a well ventilated area.
Enjoy the Sunshine. Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

Step #2
Remove all cabinet hardware - hinges, handles, door closers, etc.
Place in freezer bags and mark WELL.
Store in a safe place.
A place you will be able to remember a month from now.
Pat self on back for being *so* organized.
A month from now you will be so happy with your organized self.

Step #3
Sand, Sand, Sand.
Depending on your grease / filth / goober level...
Start sanding with a lower grit sandpaper.
Not so low that you gouge the wood.
Generally speaking - a 60 grit is TOO low, and a 240 is too high.
In my world anyway.
Somewhere between the two is a good starting point.
Then move up to a higher grit.
Sand, Sand, Sand.
You should end up with wood that is very smooth to the touch.
Don't forget to enjoy the sunshine.
Ahhhhhhhhhh.

Step #4
You are now completely covered in dust.
Remember - your skin is your largest organ.
Go take a shower.
Be happy knowing you are now ready for the next stage:
Applying Shellac.

To Be Continued...
